This nice HO gauge locomotive by Roco is 73708 a DR BR 142 diesel locomotive in dark livery with running number 142 004-1

The DR 130 family of locomotives comprises the DR Class 130, DR Class 131, DR Class 132 as well as Classes 233, 234 and 241 and DR Class 142, in the USSR locomotives called TE109 and TE129 also formed part of this class. They were all produced in the Soviet Union in Luhansk, Ukraine from the 1970s onwards, and were imported into the GDR. After the reunification of Germany the Deutsche Bahn (DBAG) inherited them and continue to make use of them mainly as heavy freight locomotives.

Nicknamed Ludmilla, over 700 units were produced between 1970 and 1982. Between 1977 and 1978 six locomotives with a power of 4,000 hp (2,980 kW) were built, and designated Class 142 in operation. However, it had been decided at the political level that the main lines would be electrified, thus there would be no need in future for such a powerful locomotive, as a result no further machines were built.

The loco is in very good condition as you can see in the pictures, I have not tested it but I can see no reason why it would not run, so it it is sold in untested condition, but a complete external visual inspection has shown no reason why this loco would not run and the overall condition is very good. It comes complete with its box. The box is in good if slightly shelf worn condition.

Overall this is a really nice scale locomotive and would look fantastic on a layout.

Do please have a look at my other listings, I typically have various HO and OO locos on offer as well as an extensive range of imported N gauge locos and other items.

Note: I do recommend all locos are cleaned & serviced, as they have some age to them even if the quality looks at the highest level (fairly standard advice for all locos!).
