2 Philippines Antique Basket Ifugao Tudung Rain Head gear Rice Fish Gather Rare Rattan wicker


This listing is for 2 Antique Philippines baskets called (hood) Tudung . From Ifugao region. Used in parts of Luzon to carry rice or other items, and is also used as a rain cape when worn over the head. The thick water proof layers are made of layers of native pandanus leaves sandwiched between inner and outer frameworks of rattan. These items are from the early 20th century and one of these can be viewed at the Fowler Museum at UCLA in Los Angeles. A very unique and special piece. Could be displayed on a wall as well. 

Each basket measures 22” long from top to bottom, 20” at widest part and about 5” deep. Great Condition, Well Kept. Comes from an Estate. See all photos as part of description.
