The remarkable MP Series from Wharfedale Pro is STABLE DOWN TO 2 OHMS!

Over 1/3rd of the internal chassis is taken up with a massive toroidal transformer. This gives an MP amp the power supply stability to function in the most extreme AC conditions. MP amps are also stable down to 2 Ohms. This allows for multiple 8 Ω or 16 Ω speakers to be driven with extreme and constant power.

The MP-1800 produces 600 watts, 300 W/Ch @ 8Ω, 1200 watts, 600 W/Ch @ 4Ω or 1800 watts, 900 W/Ch @ 4Ω, or bridged 1200 watts @ 8Ω or 1800 watts @ 4Ω!

This rack-mount beast has both front and rear rack ears, weighs in at just under 52 lbs and measures 19.5" x 5.25" x 19" wide including the rack ears.

Condition:

This beautiful amp is in "Very Good" condition with minor signs of use. Aside from a few scuffs & scratches to the cabinet, there are just a few light light scuffs to the front panel, some too faint to be seen well in the pics. This came to us with a partially broken front logo, so we glued it back down as seen in the pics. While the rack ears were a little dog-eared and required bending back, they show no signs of previous mounting. The original attached high-current AC cord is in excellent condition. The manual has gone missing, but no worries, it is available for free online, or we will send you the PDF file directly on request! Please do inspect all the pictures thoroughly for actual condition.

Service:

On inspection this amp was working correctly, just some scratchy controls, so it went to our tech for servicing. Both pots were cleaned internally with Specialist Contact Cleaner (proven superior to DeoxIT by our customers). While open, all electrolytic caps were inspected for bulging or leakage and all PC boards were inspected with all questionable solder joints re-flowed. It's this kind of preventative servicing that makes it smart to buy from a company with an experienced, in-house technician.

Testing:

We set it up on our test bench and it did not disappoint, both channels drove our speakers with a powerful, distortion-free signal. All inputs and features were confirmed working with noise-free operation. Further testing was done, if there is a particular function you would like to know more about just let us know before buying. What a great find on a high-power amp!
