A silver Austro Hungarian pendant C1900 on a fairly recent silver chain.
The lovely pendant is not that typical of that style, having a shell cameo to the centre rather than the enamel figure generally used. It features the usual red rubies and green emeralds. The latter were locally sourced until we ( the British blew up the mine just before the WW1).
The pendant is a lovely size and shape , very wearable. at 2.75 inch long and 1.6 inch wide.
I did think they had managed to do without the pearls - you usually get the trio, rubies, emeralds & pearls - but I have found one nestling under the base of the cameo bezel.
One central drop is missing . Both the drops and part of the back have the embossed silver flowers which are often found on these pieces.
Altogether it looks what it is, a nice piece of obviously antique jewellery. The fact that it is set with real stones not the later pastes is also a bonus
