Description :
HELIOS-44-2 2/58 has preset aperture ring. With this ring, you can choose one of the fixed values: F / 2, 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8, 11, 16. The diaphragm setting ring rotates smoothly and it can be set to any intermediate value. Also the smooth running of the ring diaphragm setting is useful when shooting video. The diaphragm consists of eight petals, which opening is formed as a regular polyhedron.
The focus ring is rotated 270 degrees (!), the smooth progress of the ring. The sharpness manually is quite convenient. While focusing front lens does not rotate, only lengthens the body frame. HELIOS-44-2 2/58 scale has a focusing distance (in meters only) and the scale for the DOF F / 2, 4, 5.6, 8, 11, 16.
In the center of the lens is quite sharp images even at F / 2.0. On diaphragms covered with edges and corners image bounce back. Like other lenses HELIOS-44 family, version 44-2 tightens up the background (the legendary 'Twisted bokeh' Helios).
