Description

PRS CE 24 (Fire Red Burst)

Used CE (Classic Electric) model with bolt-on structure and maple neck!

The parts are dull and have some rust, as well as general scratches. Notable damage includes paint chips on the first string cutaway and dents on the top of the head.
There is no fret wear and the neck condition is good, so there are no problems with normal use.

Since it was announced in 1988, the CE series has evolved in a different lineage from the mahogany set neck, and since it disappeared from the catalog lineup in 2008, there have been many requests for its return. Due to cost issues, it was never produced except for some limited edition models.

This CE 24, which was announced at Winter NAMM 2016, follows the previous CE series, but has specifications that are even more cost-effective, and we have a feeling that it will quickly become a popular model.

A maple top with a slightly shallower arch than the Custom, combined with a classic mahogany back, and a bolt-on joint with a maple neck finished with satin nitrocellulose, creates a sound with a sense of attack.
The fingerboard is made of East Indian rosewood and features PRS's trademark bird inlay.

The pickup is equipped with the 85/15 that was installed in the 30th Anniversary Model.
This pickup, which has the year numbers 1985, the year of its founding, and 2015, the 30th anniversary, is slightly different from the vintage tone pickups such as 57/08 and 59/09, and aims for a modern classic character. This is a newly developed pickup with a rich sound that combines a wide range from high end to low end and a punchy and moderate power feeling.

Despite the attractive specifications mentioned above, the pegs, bridge, etc. are common parts with the S2 series, and the included case is used as a gig bag, making it a guitar with excellent cost performance.

Unlike the Custom, the neck material is maple, and the CE has a bolt-on joint structure. It is easy to be mistaken for a low-priced version of PRS, but the quality and production process are just as good as the higher-end models. Of course, it is true that production costs are lowered by using cases, parts, etc., but this CE has a sharper and better sound than the Custom.
