For auction a very rare and hard to find item made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The item is from Weller's highly collected and very desirable "Greora" line of art pottery. The item is a "Ginger Jar" and it is a nice cabinet size. It measures 6" tall to the top of the lid and is 5 1/2" in diameter at the top outside measurements. The foot has a diameter of 2 3/4".

The Ginger Jar displays a tapered swollen shoulder shape with raised top lip to receive a dome shaped cover or lid. This Ginger Jar has an outstanding mottled matte hunter green glaze over a matte copper to black glazed body that is very similar to Weller's Coppertone line. The upper part of the vessel has the copper with the lower showing the black in the background. This is a wonderful arts and crafts shape with an even better glaze.

This Ginger Jar is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The vase is signed " Weller Pottery" in their incised script signature.

Those of you who collect Greora and are looking to add an outstanding rare example to their collection do not let this one slip by. This Ginger Jar is an excellent example of both form and glaze. This piece was made circa 1931-1935.

I want to apologize for slowing down my shipping time. Ebay forced me into managed payments in July 2020. I used to get my money in 24 hours. I now get it in 3-4 business days. I was told it would be better for me and my fees would go down. This has been the opposite as my fees have actually increased and now it takes longer for me to receive the payments. Because of this slowdown I will not ship until the payment has made it into my bank account. No store lets you out of the building with the merchandise unless it is paid for.

They are also now charging all sellers a commission of 12.35% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 12.35%. This is an increase of 9.45% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 12.35% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges.

If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don't agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy.
