This is a Trinket/DeskBox with a Bluebill Drake Decorative Decoy attached to the lid. The Decoy was carved by Ron Fisher in 1981and has his Branded logo, his signature, and the date on the underneath of the Decoy. (Note; We removed the Decoy which is attached by two screws for the photograph of the bottom.) The Decoy and Box are in near perfect condition, even after 40+ years. The Decoy is a bit smaller than life size, measuring 12 1/4 inches from beak to tail. The Box is 12 7/8 x 7 3/8 x 3 1/2 inches and weighs 4 pounds, 9 ounces with the Decoy and lid.
Ron Fisher carved a large number of decoys in the 1980's. Many were well done, many were simply done but still nice. This Bluebill on a box is a bit unusual as he typically carved mallard drakes. We were unable to find any biographical information about him. We thought this Bluebill Decoy on a Box might be a nice addition to any collection of his work.
