(from Wikipedia)  The book was written by Vita Sackville-West, the noted author and garden designer, who had a sexual relationship with Virginia Woolf for several years before Leonard and Virginia published this work.  One of the World-Makers and World-Shakers titles from a series published by the Hogarth Press. 

Condition:   Very good condition.  Sound binding in cloth-covered boards.  Very slightly cocked.  Rub wear to the corners tips, and a little along the edges.  A couple of very tiny scratch marks to the cloth. There is a publisher's compliments slip tipped onto the front free endpaper, from Longmans, Green & Co. of Toronto.  The gutters of the end papers are a little discoloured.  The inside pages are clean and unmarked, but notably tanned.  Lacks the dust jacket.
