The highlight being issue 43 featuring Hector Servadac by Jules Verne.


This is the first complete edition published in the United States, as noted in The Jules Verne Encyclopedia, V016. This was published in its entirety in September. Munro also started publishing this novel serially in the New York Fireside Companion starting in February, but the last installment was not published until the following February. The book form first US edition wasn’t even announced until November 1877.

Bound in quarter leather.  Cloth boards.  Heavy wear to boards.  Binding cracked.  Pages yellowed.  Text block almost loose entirely, but the first couple pages are detached. Still, issues, esp the Verne, could be nice rebound as itheir own.
