Stunning Heirloom Quality Christening Gown and Undergarment/ Slip c. 1890-1910This is a lovely, quality gown with an exceptional amount of hand embroidery, tucks and lace- beautiful bodice.The body of this beautiful gown features a 40” full- length Broderie Anglaise panel down the center- front panel and layered, gathered lace interspaced with tiny horizontal pleats. 12” neck. Center back opening closes with three hidden tiny buttons at neck. Lovely undergarment included (fits inside gown perfectly- see photos of the plain, yet quality vintage slip).
There are several blue ribbons and rosettes which my mother made for my son’s christening 35 years ago(at age 3 months) which could easily be removed or even replaced with pink ones by purchaser. There are several small barely noticeable light brown age spots, other wise, this gown is in lovely condition and ready to be cherished for generations more to come.
