This is a darling little pair of earrings on offer today featuring genuinely antique vintage Victorian Edwardian un-dyed coral sticks or twigs beads and a small faceted vintage metal bead of 2.5 mm diameter above, and an unusual and scarce ex-Miriam Haskell diamante pin which sparkles on the bottom of the earrings beautifully as if a glint of gorgeous light beams occasionally bouncing off them as you move. They are loosely stacked on these pins so the beads rotate to find their own position. Un-dyed beads before the days of environmental pollution and coral-bleach, these beads were harvested at a time before the oceans changed in recent times. Photographed on a background of an old Jacques-Yves Cousteau with Philippe Dole book LIFE AND DEATH IN A CORAL SEA dated to the late 1960s, you can see from the photos above from various angles what is on offer here. Length with shepherd's crook hooks: 38 mm or just under 1.50" and weight each earring 1.3 grams which is pretty light for such dangly earrings. The diamante pin is attributed to ex-Miriam Haskell lines of costume jewellery during the mid last century and are probably old brass with claw-set Rhinestones of a superior quality, perhaps Swarovski manufactured stones.
