Effanbee (F & B) 1940's Effanbee Sugar Baby with Bright Eyes Blue Eyed Lambs Wig Doll

The Effanbee doll company was founded around 1910 and started producing dolls in 1912. Known as a leader in the composition doll market.

This doll has a composition head and limbs, cloth body with crier soundbox, super soft golden red caracul lambskin wig, brilliant silver & blue celluloid sleep eyes, and closed mouth. Her sweet face is from the sugar baby lineup, which is a fan favorite from that time period. The cheeks are just so cute!

Doll marked on neck (C) (illegible few characters) EFFANBEE

Measures approximately 16 Tall.

This baby doll has wear from age and play, with some cracking and crazing throughout the composite limbs, chips on the fingers and toes, and some paint loss. Crier is not working. The eyes are intact, opening and closing with ease. The raised, right arm has been glued. It was previously repaired at the shoulder, but was affixed in place. We don't know the full extent of the repair or what lies behind. There is paint loss on the shoulder at the socket.

She will need a restoration by an expert or educated enthusiast to be put back to original functionality.
