Very important early publication of the letters of Sarah Osborn and Susanna Anthony. Anthony (1726 - 1791) was converted during the Great Awakening, 1740, under the preaching of George Whitefield and others, finally settling under the ministry of Samuel Hopkins. Her works, which have all of the experimental warmth of those of Sarah Edwards (wife of Jonathan) are little-known, but are both devotionally excellent and vitally important documents of the Great Awakening.
