This HO gauge locomotive by Fleischmann is 4064 a DB BR 64 steam locomotive in black livery. It has the running number 064 389-0.

The Deutsche Reichsbahn introduced the BR 64 2-6-2 tank engine in 1928 and it was in production until 1940. The boiler and elements of the driving gear were the same as those on the DRG Class 24. From no. 64 368 onwards the engines were 10 cm longer than their predecessors. The Class 64 engine was given the nickname "Bubikopf" ('bob') after a fashionable ladies hairstyle of the time.

After the Second World War 393 engines were still in service of which 278 went to the Deutsche Bundesbahn and 115 to the Deutsche Reichsbahn (East Germany). No. 64 311 remained in Austria after 1945 and became class 64 (Reihe 64) with ÖBB). Those engines left in Poland were given the classification OKl2 by the PKP. In 1968 there were still 60 machines in service with the Bundesbahn. Twenty Class 64 locomotives have been preserved, the majority in Germany.

The loco is in good condition as you can see in the pictures, it is tested and runs, though has been sat on a shelf for some time so we would recommend a service to ensure smooth running. A complete external visual inspection has shown no reason why this loco would not run and the overall condition is good. It comes complete with its box. The box is in shelf worn condition.

Overall this is a really nice scale locomotive and would look fantastic on a layout.

Do please have a look at my other listings, I typically have various HO and OO locos on offer as well as an extensive range of imported N gauge locos and other items.

Note: I do recommend all locos are cleaned & serviced, as they have some age to them even if the quality looks at the highest level (fairly standard advice for all locos!).
