The standard art model is Ludwig's second fro the top of the line, with fancy crown-shaped flange holes and pearl pegged ornamentation inlaid into a pearled pegged veneer. The model also features unusual lines of purling running along the center of the neck, heel, and fingerboard binding and ornate . The rim engraving, according to the original catalogue, exhibits "exquisite tracery". It also features Ludwig's innovative "top tension" design, with tension hooks a player could adjust without taking the resonator off.
