Description

Up for grabs is a very nice 60-70's vintage Field Coat (M-1965) in olive drab (shade 107).  This is a Vietnam War era coat with a DSA contract date of 1969 manufactured by Alpha Industries, Inc., who were the first company to manufacture these coats under DSA contracts.  Tag size is Small-Regular (chest 33-37", height 67-71").  The shell of the jacket is a cotton-nylon blend.

With its rugged construction and thoughtful design, the M-65 is an entirely versatile piece that is optimal for nearly any environment and setting.  Not only will the jacket hold up well (and age beautifully after years of wear), it will do so through rain, shine, or snow.  But its biggest strength is the balance it strikes between function and form.  It certainly has all of the construction qualities to protect one from the elements, but it also possesses a clean, timeless aesthetic that is not always easy to obtain.

This coat has two front chest patch pockets, and two lower front welt pockets, both with flap covers and button snap closure.  Heavy steel Scoville zipper front closure with exterior storm flap that secures with button snaps.  Built-in hood that rolls and stows inside the collar.  Collar can be closed with Velro tab and patch.  The interior waist cord is missing, bey the cord tie at hem is present.  The sleeve cuffs have adjustable Velcro tabs and extendable flaps to provide additional coverage of the back of the hands.  Buttoned shoulder epaulets.  Measurements, laid flat, are:

Chest:   21”
Shoulders:   19”
Sleeves:   24”
Length:   30”

This coat is previously owned but in very good vintage condition...some small spots/stains (some may consider these flaws, but some would consider them character) but otherwise it is 100% functional.  Please shoot us an email if you have any questions or would like to see additional pictures.  Also, be sure to check out our other listings for great work and play related apparel and gear, as well as some sweet vintage finds…a great opportunity for international buyers to save on shipping costs with multiple purchases.  Thanks for looking!
