A good Grainger's porcelain basket in the rococo revival taste with shaped rim moulded with acanthus leaves and ornate knopped handle with bifurcated terminals. The centre is very finely painted with a view of Worcester with the river and small pleasure boats in the foreground and the cathedral and spire of St Andrew's in the background. The acanthus leaves are picked out in gilt as is the handle and the walls are painted with grape vines in gilt and lemon yellow enamel. Red painted script mark to the base "Grainger Lee & Co., Royal Porcelain Works, Worcester" and the view "Worcester" is also named. c.1835.

It measures 20.5cm (8 1/16") long by 17.2cm (6 3/4") wide and 9.2cm (3 5/8") high.

In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration. Some minor scuffing to the glaze at a couple of points on the foot rim and a small underglaze chip to the foot from manufacture. No discernible handling wear to the gilding or enamelling but the glaze is finely crazed all over which is a very common feature of Grainger's porcelain.
