This is a reproduction 1804 Russian Alexander I silver rouble which has been fashioned into spoon.

As an original silver coin, it would be worth a mint as a rarity (97 on a scale of 100 with 100 being exceedingly rare). But I'm told it's a copy so it is what it is.

The spoon handle is silver and dated 1874 - so it was created three or four generations down the line from Alexander.

If you like to romanticise about the days of Czarist Russia or want to own a reproduction Alexander I coin at a fraction of the cost, here's your chance.

It weighs 45.48gms - which is 1.6 ounces.
