I need to clear some
space on my shelves, so I have to part with some of my collection. It is hard
for me to believe that the B-1B has been in service for over 30 years now. To
me, it is the definitive symbol of the Cold War, but it has found new missions
and performed them well. This one has its war paint on and now you can have it
in a convenient size for displaying on your desk or shelf. Dragon has created a
series of Bones in this scale, so you have your choice of versions to display
and all are highly detailed and fully finished diecast collectibles.
This collectible is
easy to find on eBay, but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock
and can reliably ship this to you very quickly. Here is what I have found
online about this particular product:
The dragon-models.com
site shows the box art and gives a good description of the details of the
aircraft model:
Features:
- Fully
detailed 1/400 USAF B-1B Lancer
-
Pre-assembled
The B-1B Lancer is an impressive aircraft by anyone’s
measurement. Built by Rockwell International, the four-engine supersonic bomber
is capable of speeds of Mach 1.25. This important US Air Force (USAF) asset
also features variable-sweep wings. The “Bone” entered USAF service in 1986,
with 100 aircraft rolling off the production line up till the final one in
1988.
Dragon Warbirds’ newest 1/400 scale die-cast model is
equally impressive. It’s finished in the markings of the 28th Bomb Wing (28
BW), a formation based at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota. 28 BW is
one of only two B-1B strategic bomber wings in the USAF, the other being 7 BW.
The plane stands out with its two-tone green camouflage scheme, the first time
Warbirds has offered a B-1B in these colors. Meanwhile, an emblem and the name
“Pride of South Dakota” is painted on the fuselage sides. The wings of the
highly accurate bomber model are positioned in their unswept position, giving
this exciting item yet another unique flourish.
Wikipedia and Boeing have pages that
provide additional history, great photos and details of the Bone and her
mission.
This beauty is
completely painted and assembled and ready for immediate display. It comes
carefully cradled in a perfectly shaped plastic insert packed in a colorful box
about 6” x 6” x 2.5”. As you can see from the pictures, the box is in pristine shape
and still sealed with tape strips, so I consider it factory
sealed and absolutely gift-ready.
This item contains one diecast
model of one of the world’s fastest strategic bombers that has been painstakingly
painted and finished, along with a sturdy display stand. I use eBay Managed
Payments, but I no longer ship internationally. Auction winner pays the winning
bid and for a limited time I am offering this item with $5 Flat Rate Shipping in the US!
No reserve and a low starting
bid. Check out my other great auctions and listings for combined shipping. Good
luck!
Those familiar with my listings can tell
that I really enjoy these products and the modeling hobby. I like to provide
more than just the bare facts about the items, trying to lead you into
discovering more about the subjects and optimizing your builds (if that is your
goal). I started out picking up models that I was interested in, with the eye
toward building them when I had time. Always a bargain-hunter, I accumulated
many more than I can build, so I found myself in a Collector status (sounds
nicer than a hoarder).
As I am sure you have noticed, my items
are almost always sealed and in mint condition (I call them Gift-Ready), since
I only open them when I am ready to build them. Now I enjoy making these
products available to my fellow modelers; both Builders and Collectors. For the
Builders, there are probably better (at least cheaper) ways to add to your
project lists than buying from me, but you know you are getting top quality.
For Collectors, my goal is to save you a few bucks over the competition for the
same item in factory sealed and collectible (or resellable) condition.
