The Appliance Depot  was founded in 2008 by a dedicated team who have over  33 years  of experience within the industry. We have seen welcome and unexpected growth over the years and are now operating from two different sites within Leicestershire, with a total warehouse capacity of over 35,000 square foot, holding over 5,000 products for sale.

We sell products from some of the most recognised and loved  brands , including, but not limited to:  Neff Bosch Siemens  and  Smeg . We specialise in selling graded products bought directly from the manufacturers themselves, and we also offer a range of  second-hand appliances . These products may not come in the original packaging, they may be ex-display, damaged, end of the line or cosmetically imperfect. However, we pride ourselves on being honest and transparent with our customers, and you can find an explanation on each listing of why that item is graded.

WHAT DOES GRADED MEAN?

Graded generally means one or more of a few things, normally one of these: Was part of an order that was rejected or sent back when brand new; slight cosmetic imperfections; box damage, not in original packaging etc. The graded items we sell all have a minimum of  12 months warranty , normally manufacturers, UNLESS otherwise stated in the listing. All our items are  BRAND NEW  and have never been used, and are only graded due to some cosmetic issue, unless otherwise stated in the listing. Each item on our site has an explanation as to its cosmetic condition i.e. it will mention any small dents, scratches or blemishes of some kind, many of which will not be noticeable once the appliance is installed!

What is Graded?

What Does Graded / Ex-display Mean?

We are the UK?s leading retailer of brand new  graded  and  ex-display  domestic and kitchen appliances. All the  graded  appliances we sell online have NEVER been used and supplied with the manufactures warranty. Our appliances listed online can be  graded  for various reason, these can include:-

-    The original packaging is damaged or missing.
-    The appliance may have been displayed on the shop floor hence ex-display.
-    Small blemishes or minor cosmetic marks to the appliance usually to the sides and or rear which won't necessarily be seen once the item has been installed.

This means the graded & ex-display appliances we sell are priced substantially less than an equivalent brand new item.

   All our  graded  and  ex-display  appliances are BRAND NEW and have never been used. To find out why a particular product has been graded you can either call our customer service team on  0116 278 9741  or contact via our  email  contact form.

Why Should You Buy an Ex-display or Graded Appliance? 

There are many benefits of buying  ex-display and new graded appliances:-

  •     The greatest benefit of buying  graded/ex-display appliances is the savings made over none graded products.
  •     All graded appliances are sold with the standard manufacturer's warranty being a minimum of 1 year.*
  •     None of our  ex-display  and  graded  appliances have ever been used.
  •     Most of our  graded  and  ex display  stock will only have minor cosmetic blemishes to the sides of the appliance and so none will be seen, once the machine has been installed.
  •     Extended warranties can still be purchased on  ex-display  and  graded  appliances.
*excluding Maytag, Amana, Admiral, De-Dietrich, Fisher & Paykel & Kitchenaid appliances which have a 60 day warranty.

Delivery & Returns

  1. Appliance Depot Deliveries

At The Appliance Depot we charge £29.99 to deliver orders to the vast majority of mainland England and South Wales. For Devon or Scotland we charge £75 and for Ireland it's £125. For smaller appliances, we may use the courier company FedEx.

Once you have placed your order, a member of our team will be in touch to arrange delivery. As our main method of delivery is our own drivers, and we go to a different region each day, it could be up to two weeks before we deliver your product. However, in most instances, we are able to deliver your order before this time frame.

If you need to change your delivery date and/or details you will need to contact us on eBay and phone us at least 2 working days before your scheduled delivery to do so.

The driver will phone you when he is approximately 30 minutes from your delivery address, unless other arrangements have been made with a member of staff. We deliver between the hours of 6am and 5pm and we cannot guarantee a specific time for deliveries.

If there is clear and easy access to your property with up to 6 shallow steps, the driver will be happy to assist you in taking the item inside. However, please do remember that the driver is one individual with a set of wheels - if it is a large order than he will not be able to take it inside on his own. It is your responsibility to ensure that the product will fit through any doors - our drivers will not remove doors in order to bring a product into a building. Once our driver has delivered the product, he will unpack it and photograph it. Please inform us if any of the above factors affect your order as undelivered items caused by such problems will be subject to a failed delivery fee.

  1. Third Party Palletised Deliveries 

We will occasionally be unable to deliver an order with our own delivery drivers. When this is the case, we will use a palletised third-party courier to deliver your order. The order process will be the same as if it were our own driver - you will place your order and then a member of the team will contact you to confirm your order and arrange delivery. Your product will be securely packaged and strapped to a pallet. The third-party courier will deliver the product to you still strapped to the pallet and it will be a kerbside delivery. You will be required to sign for these deliveries, so please ensure that you are home for the delivery. The driver will phone you when he is approximately 1 hour away from the delivery address. Third party deliveries charge per pallet so if your order spans more than one pallet additional charges will apply. 

  1. DPD Deliveries 

We can send smaller items with DPD or FedEx, as long as they fit safely and securely in a parcel. Once you have placed an order, one of the team will be in touch with you to confirm the order and the delivery. If it is suitable for us to send the product with DPD, we will inform you of this and schedule it for a day which is suitable for you. DPD offer a 2-day delivery service - DPD will collect the product from us the day after you have ordered it, and they will deliver it to you the following day. You will be required to sign for a DPD delivery, so please ensure that you are home for the delivery.

Non-Billing Address Deliveries

If you request a delivery to an address which is not your re gistered billing address, it may be necessary for us to implement further security checks prior to accepting the order. We do this to protect our customers against any potential fraudulent action. If this is the case, we will contact you as soon as you have placed your order. If we are unable to get in touch with you, it may delay your order being processed and therefore may affect the delivery date.

Delivery Timeslots 

Please ensure that when you arrange your delivery with us, you will be home all day on the specified date. Unfortunately, we cannot state what time your order will be with you when you place the order, but if you phone us the day before it is due to be delivered, we will be able to tell you a rough estimated time of arrival. The driver will contact you when he is 30 minutes from your address to ensure that you are there - he is unable to leave the product without first receiving a signature. If you realise you cannot adhere to the delivery date scheduled, you must inform us of this by midday at least one working day before, otherwise failed delivery charges will apply. 

Failed Delivery Charges

If we have arranged for a product to be delivered and there is no one at the address to accept and sign for it, you are responsible for paying a failed delivery fee. If there are other reasons as to why the delivery cannot occur, such as it not fitting through the door, or the wrong item has been ordered, you will again be liable for paying a failed delivery fee. Failed delivery charges are £50 and at the discretion of the manager.

Delivery Guide

Have a read through this quick and easy guide on how to have a smooth-sailing delivery.

1. Be ready for when we arrive 

If you are one of the first deliveries scheduled, we will send you an SMS the day before to let you know that the driver will be with you early in the morning. Our driver will phone you 30 minutes before he is due to arrive at your address. Our deliveries start at 6am and finish by 5pm - please be aware that they will get to their first delivery at 6am!

2. Gaining access to the property

Unfortunately, deliveries don't always go  plan. Have a read though the following to ensure the delivery goes with no complications.

 

1. Are there steps to the property?  Our drivers are able to take products up 6 shallow steps and so you will be required to provide additional people to assist you to do this yourself.
2. Have you  taken all of the required measurements?  Some of the appliances we sell, such as American fridge-freezers and range cookers, are very large and will not fit through standard-sized doors. Our drivers will not remove doors in order to bring an appliance into a building. 
3. Are there parking restrictions?  Our drivers will be unable to stop if there is not clear and easy access into the building.
4. Will your property be easy to locate?  If you live down a narrow lane or in a new build estate, please do inform us of this so that we can let the driver know. It may be necessary for you to provide us with directions to your property, or for you to provide the driver with these when he phones you 30 minutes before delivery.   


3. Avoiding damage

Many of the appliances we sell are large and heavy. Our driver will always try to make the delivery as smooth and easy as possible, but it may be necessary for you to ensure that any hallways or other floor surfaces are clear prior to the delivery. If he does not have clear and easy access into the property, he may not be able to take it into the desired part of the property. Please note in most cases our drivers will be happy to help assist in getting the appliances into your property however it is your own responsibility to avoid any potential damage that may be caused in doing this. Therefore please ensure you plan ahead and prepare for this.

4. Unwanted items

As stated in the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations Act of 2013, you are entitled to cancel your order within 14 days after receiving the product(s), without being required to provide a reason. It is essential that the appliance has not been installed, used or damaged, and that all of the provided accessories are returned alongside it. If any damage comes to the product, or there are missing components upon its return, we reserve the right to charge you accordingly.

You can return the item yourself at your cost within 28 days, please make sure you insure your goods for return as we accept no liability to any damage incurred in its return.

We reserve the right to apply re-handling charges for items that are being returned to us, which is a cost of £50, and no original delivery charge would be refunded.

5. Damaged or faulty products

If there any components missing from the delivery, such as any accessories, please inform us of this within 48 hours and we will send you replacement ones. If you notice that the item is damaged in anyway, get in touch with us within 48 hours of delivery. We will ask for photographs of the damage so that we can resolve the issue as best as possible.

If you notice that the product is faulty in any way, you have the right to a full refund, as long as it is within 30 days of delivery. If it exceeds this time frame, you will not be able to return it. Instead, we will schedule for an engineer to visit you to attempt to resolve the issue.

6. Unforeseen circumstances

From time to time, incidents occur which may prevent us from delivering your product at the specified time. For example, there may have been a traffic accident, extreme weather or a vehicle breakdown delaying or preventing the item from being delivered on time. If this is the case, we will inform you at the earliest possible time.

Due to these potential delays, we highly recommend that you do not book a kitchen fitter until the appliance has been delivered and you have had the chance to inspect them. If you do not adhere to this advice and the product is not with you when expected but you have booked a kitchen fitter, this is at your own expense and we will not reimburse the cost.

Shopping Online

  • You can order any product which is displayed on this website.
  • Should a product be listed with an incorrect price, either due to a typographical error or as a result of an error in pricing information given to us by either a manufacturer or supplier, we have the right to refuse or cancel the order. We will inform you of this error and offer you the option to cancel the order. Should your credit card have been debited before the error has been noted we will refund the amount to the value of the incorrect price and delivery where applicable.
  • If you wish to cancel the contract after the 7th working day of receiving the product there will be a cancellation charge (please contact us for more details).
  • Cancelling an order must be via TELEPHONE or LETTER so that we can confirm the cancellation.
  • If this does not happen then please contact us again, however telephone is the most efficient and preferred method.

Payment

  • You can pay by Visa, Master Card, Maestro, Solo or Visa Delta debit card, BACS, Cheque, Cash. To ensure that shopping on-line is secure, your credit/debit details will be encrypted to minimise the possibility of someone being able to read your details as they are sent to us over the Internet.
  • We DO NOT accept foreign cards. If we receive any orders the transition amount will be refunded within 10 working days, we will not be responsible for any loss. We try to ensure that prices displayed are accurate, but we will need to validate the price before we process your order. We also aim only to display items which are in stock and which can be dispatched to you quickly.
  • If we are unable to supply a particular item which you have ordered or if the correct price for an item is different from the price on your order, we will notify you as soon as we receive your order. If this happens, you may cancel your order and we will refund you any money that you have paid.

Pricing

  • All pries are in £ sterling, inclusive of VAT at 20% and exclusive of delivery charges unless an extra delivery charge occurs.
  • The prices quoted on this website are valid for Internet sales only but if you wish to buy from our store, please make it clear to one of the staff in store that you are an online customer.

Warranty and Returns

  • All goods are covered by a 12 month return to base MANUFACTURER warranty* at your own cost.
  • If you wish to cancel your order prior to dispatch, you must contact us within 24 hours of placing the order. Please note that orders that have already been processed will be subject to a delivery charge.
  • In the unlikely event of your goods being delivered faulty or damaged, you must contact us within 48 hours in order for us to arrange a replacement or possibly a refund. Please ensure the condition for all products are checked within 48 hours as after this point we accept no liability .
  • Goods mishandled or if any accessories are missing will only be exchanged or credited upon investigation from our returns department. Goods will be credited minus the cost of any accessories missing or damaged caused to the item.
  • Whilst goods are in the customer's possession it is the customer's responsibility to ensure that there is no damage to the item or packaging.
  • We are not responsible for your shipping costs when returning items to us. We will in turn be responsible for the cost of shipping items back to you.
  • Any goods returned / cancelled that were purchased in error i.e wrong colour, incorrect size will be subject to a handling and re-stocking charge of £50 and must be returned within 28 days.
  • In accordance with the Distance Selling Regulations, an order can be cancelled within 7 working days starting the day after delivery. We require the item boxed with all original packaging. The product should be in unused and in perfect condition, whereby a refund will be provided less the cost of carriage.
  • The goods have to be sent back at your own cost.
  • This is with the exception of used products or products made by Maytag, Admiral, Amana, or kitchenAid as these come with a 60 days warranty.
  • We only offer 60 days on these ranges as we honour this ourselves, we guarantee the product will be as described in the advert and that it will be full working order. You are able to add these items to your household insurance for extra peace of mind or contact an insurance company to work with you.

E-mails

  • All E-mails sent via the contact us link on the website will be responded to within 24 working hours of receiving them.
  • If you wish to make any comments about the service which you have received then please address them via email or directly over the phone to an enquiry representative.

Refunds

  • All refunds will be processed within 14 working days of cancellation.

General

  • We endeavour to respond to complaints within five working days.
  • We may change or withdraw any part of our website.
