The sound cuts in the video are due on the one hand to the relay protection when the loose wires from the unconnected speaker were joined together, and because the supply is limited to 4 amps, when I put the bass booster on, the sound cut out until I released it. This will not happen outside the workbench, obviously. The power amp works perfectly and has been upgraded for a normal installation like any other amplifier. The original power supply terminal block is not supplied, for which other cables have already been soldered to the board (see photo). Pioneer GM1000A ..I am finally a proud owner of this unit and now it can be yours, I have another one and I hope to get all the ones I find because the previous owners do not give their real value and do not even know how to make them work when they change cars, others appear in scrap yards and they don't know what price to put on them. Some think that it is damaged when it is not true and they sell it at ridiculous prices, others who do know it, the real owners who 30 years ago paid a lot of money plus the installation now intend to sell it for more than €1000. This one has never failed, only opened for a cursory cleaning, changed the thermal paste (before it was dry) and connected the RCA ground (otherwise no sound because DIN connection is not used, obviosly, and do not needed). now you can use it like any other amplifier (12+, ground and remote) with rca connections for sound signal. At the beginning of the 1990s, Pioneer was already at the top of the automotive industry due to its high quality removable power supplies. They sounded like no other but the rise of disco, the pre-boom of electronic music and the demand for power made it necessary to include power supplies that maintained the quality of the sources, thanks to which the PIONEER GM was created, a guarantee of increased fidelity in all notes, maintaining the crystalline mids and pristine highs that had made the brand famous. Many people think that the letter A means that the amplifier is class A and nothing could be further from the truth, those of this series that carry the letter A are because they have RCA connections, a great advantage that allows us to take advantage of them today. Advantages: you will get a luxury vintage amplifier, with great sound and low consumption, it only has a 10 amp fuse, but don't be fooled as it supplies a very remarkable power, even much more than the ones that are usually supplied by current 4x22 rms sources. You can connect it to your front kit leaving the power of the radio for the rear speakers. It has a button that enhances the low notes, at a suitable gain you will always have your bass accentuated without losing quality. And it's not because the other amps on the market are so bad, but when you listen to one of these old school amps, a whole new soundstage opens up and the same old song sounds different because you are now able to clearly perceive a new range of tones that will make you hear the music as if you were listening to it for the first time. That's why I appreciate young customers who are seduced by these nineties equipment, because there is something about them that has been lost in the time of the new mini class D technology. Enjoy!
