Decoupage/collage frame with 40+ unique photos and self-portraits by Mexican Artist Frida Kahlo. There is hand painting around the pictures and a glossy, protective varnish over the entire frame (sides are also decorated). There is glass over the collage in center. I also embellished the frame with beads, flowers and sparkly bits to further enhance the piece. Back of frame has an easel to stand on its own and a triangle hanger to attach to a wall (hangs on a nail or similar). Piece is signed on the back by artist Julie Wishmeyer. Created as a shrine to Frida and her self portraits. She depicted herself as a deer, in a traditional Mexican dress, as a baby, with her husband Diego on her mind, etc., and most notably with her animals. Frida has achieved icon stature as a woman artist. Her work and life are an inspiration to me and empowers people around the whole world.
