1993 AMERICA SERIES DYNATAC EUC. LOW MINUTES AND ACCESS. Unlocked

This is the finest example the seller has seen. It has only 10 cumulative minutes and uses the store given original 123 UNLOCK CODE.  Few if any signs of wear.  

In the 1960s while working with Motorola, Martin Cooper developed the first truly portable cell phone. The First truly cell/portable call was made in 1973 by Cooper to a rival at Bell.  

Cooper held the first cell phone in his hand on 6th AVE in NYC when he made this call. Though 3 lbs and a foot long it worked and was later nicknamed the “BRICK”.  The first cell carrier was CELLULAR ONE. In the D.C. market place. Approved by the FCC in 1983 and the IEEE. Available to the general public in 1984. It was an 800 AMPS network dubbed DYNATAC. Dynamic adaptive Total Area Coverage.  The first cell phones 8000 series retailed for $4000 , today’s $12000, and cost/ minute 42 cents-$1.25’s today.

Since this phone is 30 years old and requires a 800 AMPS carrier, none exist today.  Hence ET cannot phone home again. Some techie with a WAVE TEC 600Ct frequency emulator could technically set up their own hack proof infra cellular net. It would be expensive. But survivalists might see its merit.  

PBS, WORTHPOINT, FORBES all state  that, only second to the PC (PERSONAL COMPUTER) these Early DYNATAC cell phones changed the world and social media forever.  

All the above sources consider the DYNATACS a worthwhile techno collectible investment which will only appreciate. As always quality, condition and provenance are important.   

Movies use these as props, vintage car show buffs, teaching institutions, IT people, museums seek these out.
