In
the early 90s, the electronic music boom emerged at the same time,
whether by chance or coincidence, high-powered and high-quality car
amplifiers and subwoofers were developed to bring high fidelity to our
usual means of transport and to discover other forms of enjoyment for
music lovers and avant-garde enthusiasts.
Pioneer had earned itself the status of the best-known brand for in-car
entertainment in the 80s, hence its slogan "the art of entertainment"
and it could not miss or fail in the new market demand, and so it did
with its GM range of high-quality class A and A/B amplifiers with a
crystalline midrange and high-frequency timbre that had made the brand
so famous with its old radio cassette players.
There were no midrange or low-range models, there were the sought-after
GM models like the ones I review and put up for sale for a second life.
