With Rampa sockets you can easily screw a metric thread into the wood

Our threaded sockets are made of either brass or stainless steel. We offer them for purchase in various sizes and designs. These are often used in the furniture industry and in the hobby sector.

The RAMPA sleeve is a relatively tall screw-in nut with a metric internal thread and external wood thread. It was invented in 1905 by the zimmermann Hans Hermann Brügmann to improve the fastening of (metal) screws in wood. At the same time, especially in furniture construction, it serves as a connection that can be detached at any time if necessary. The screw-in sleeve is screwed into blind or through holes in wooden components; other components can then be attached to the wood using metric internal threads. When screwing into a blind hole or a through hole whose core diameter is adapted to the outer diameter of the sleeve, its coarse external wooden thread cuts into the wood or wood-based material wall. As a result, the wooden thread insert has a positive and force-fitting effect.
OPTIMIZED EXTERNAL THREAD: The unique external thread design of the ramp sleeves have good tensile strength and can effectively prevent loosening due to torsion or impact. The sleeve nuts provide high shock resistance, more stable screw connection, avoid loose connections between furniture and wooden panels and extend the life of furniture or other items.
