This Bronze Sculpture has Captured This Setter Working in the Field and Finding Birds for His Master. After Birds, Hunting Dogs Was a Favorite Subject of Renowned Nineteenth Century French sculptor Jules Moigniez, Who I Believe Produced This Sculpture. I was Told Moigniez was the Artist by the Previous Owner, But I see No Signature on This Piece. This Setter Tabletop Sculpture is a Lovely Example. The Brown Finish Highlights How the Artist Was Able to Capture the Details of the Animal's Dutiful and Determined Face and His Lovely Coat, and Somehow Still Evoke the Cares of a Hard Day Outside. Please Note That There is a Small Crack at The Base of the Tail.

A response to an inquiry……..

The crack is only on the top of the tail. I’ve added a couple of more detailed pictures to show that the tail has never broken off the body. It’s a wonderful piece and I’m confident that you’ll agree I would think that the tail could be reinforced with epoxy or something similar
