A exquisite example of a French ormolu, bronze and marble mantel clock depicting a female religious figure draped in fine and flowing garments holding cross in one hand and leaning against an cherub mounted alter with the other. The figure has been finely chiselled; she has very realistic features; pay particular attention to the face, hands and finger nails.

The clock demonstrates the finest quality of craftsmanship. To the front elevation, the clock features a white enamel dial with hand painted Roman numerals, with outer chapter indicating minute marks and surrounded by a chiselled ormolu rim. This fine clock stands upon a rectangular base with bracket fee and swept plinth. The front elevation of the base features scroll work throughout and has been finished with white Carrara marble inserts. 

The clock features a twin train 8 day silk suspended mechanical movement. The mechanism and dial are both signed by one of the most prolific and important 19th century clock manufacturers Leroy A Paris.


The pendulum and winding key are present.

Condition: Overall, the clock is in good working condition. The ormolu is in good condition and retains a very good colour.

Please note, whilst the clock currently works, during transport, all clocks are moved around a lot, and therefore, they may require setting up upon receiving them as well as the possibility of requiring professional assistance or a service as they can get 'stuck'. There is no guarantee that the clock will work smoothly after it has been transported.
