This is an SGC 2 GOOD, 1933 Goudey #42 baseball card 0f Philadelphia Athletics and Chicago White Sox legendary Hall of Fame second baseman, Eddie Collins.  Here are a few biographical notes about the great Eddie Collins: noted sabermetrician Bill James ranks him as the greatest second baseman of all time; he played a remarkable 25 years in the major leagues, from 1906-1930; to this day he holds, and likely always will hold, the Major League career record for sacrifice bunts, with 512; a graduate of Columbia University, he was well known for his baseball intelligence; he won 5 World Series titles with the A's and 1 with the White Sox; he won the A.L. MVP Award, then known as the Chalmers Award, in 1914; following his playing career, he went on to an accomplished 15-year "second career" as General Manager of the Boston Red Sox, from 1933-1947.
