K2
High Definition, abbreviata in K2 HD, è una tecnica di masterizzazione
audio sviluppata dalla JVC Music. K2 HD in fase di acquisizione
codifica la musica ad una risoluzione di 24 bit e 100 kHz , mentre in
fase di masterizzazione produce CD audio standard a (16 bit, 44,1 kHz)
pertanto non richiede lettori CD specializzati per la riproduzione.
Introdotta
nel 2008, la tecnica di mastering denominata K2 High Definition (K2HD,
appunto) consiste sostanzialmente nella accurata realizzazione di un
master ad alta risoluzione, un file digitale a 24 bit e 100 kHz, che
viene poi ristretto a 16 bit/44 kHz (lo standard Red Book), infine ci si
avvale di un processo di stampa più raffinato di quello usuale.
Utilizzando un'esclusiva tecnica della Memory Tech denominata HQCD
technology i dischi vengono stampati attraverso un procedimento a
bassissima tolleranza e alta precisione. Il processo HQCD fa uso di un
disco con uno strato in policarbonato di alta qualità, lo stesso
utilizzato sui display e sui monitor LCD, e poi si termina il processo
con un film riflettente con eccellente resistenza al calore e migliorata
durata nel tempo. Mentre i CD usuali utilizzano una semplice lega
d'alluminio, gli HQCD ricorrono a una lega d'argento, che possiede un
coefficiente di riflessione di molte volte superiore a quello usuale dei
CD tradizionali.

brought out by K2HD Mastering into HQ(High Quality)CD with sound
information in a very wide frequency and high resolution. HQ(High
Quality)CD is the advanced audio CD developed by Memory-Tech
Corporation. HQCD has high quality polycarbonate which is used for LC
TVs and plastic lenses. With this new material, high-precise pit
transcription can be achieved. Its high transparency and low
birefringence also contribute to advanced audio quality. In addition,
silver alloy is utilized as a reflective layer material of HQCD. This
material was originally developed for HD DVD by Memory-Tech Corporation
and they took advantage of such know-how and technology for HQCD. The
reflectivity of silver alloy is considered much better than the
conventional aluminum. The reflective layer of silver alloy has superior
durability, heat and light resistance and is very suitable for car
audio system as well. These features brought from superior materials
realize high sound
quality close to the original master sources.

Questo album è stato il primo album dei King Crimson seguito dopo una pausa di sette anni. Solo il fondatore Robert Fripp e poi l'aggiunto Bill Bruford sono rimasti dalle precedenti incarnazioni. Il resto della band sono stati Adrian Belew (chitarra, voce solista) e Tony Levin (basso, Chapman Stick, cori). L'album ha provocato nel 1980 una nuova ondata sound proto-techno più aggiornata mescolata con le precedenti sonorità oscure e pesanti degli anni 1970.

Discipline is the eighth studio album by the
band King Crimson, released in 1981. This album was King Crimson's first
album following a seven-year hiatus. Only founder Robert Fripp and
later addition Bill Bruford remained from previous incarnations. The
rest of the band was Adrian Belew (guitar, lead vocals) and Tony Levin
(bass guitar, Chapman Stick, backing vocals). The album resulted in a
more updated 1980s new wave proto-techno sound mixed with the previous
dark and heavy sounds of the 1970s.
I King Crimson sono un
gruppo musicale rock Britannico, fondato nel 1969 a Londra. Spesso
classificati come un gruppo prettamente progressive, durante il corso
della loro esistenza hanno subito le influenze di diversi generi
musicali, tra i quali: jazz, folk, musica classica, musica sperimentale,
rock psichedelico, hard rock, heavy metal, new wave, gamelan, musica
elettronica e drum and bass. Nello stesso tempo, però, i King Crimson
sono riusciti ad influenzare molti artisti contemporanei, creando nel
tempo una sorta di culto attorno al loro nome.
