3 Matched Decks TARZAN JOHNNY WEISMULLER Sealed Playing Cards Pinochle Olympics

3 Matched Decks TARZAN JOHNNY WEISMULLER Sealed Playing Cards Pinochle Olympics

This listing is for a super rare matched set of three sealed decks of cards featuring artwork of Johnny Weismuller. The artwork features Weismuller as Tarzan running in his loincloth, a portrait of a young Weismuller and a portrait of an older Weismuller along with a reproduction of his signature. There are two decks of playing cards and one deck of Pinochle cards. All three decks feature the same artwork but each deck has a different background color. If you are not familiar with Johnny Weismuller, he was a record holding Olympic swimmer who won five Gold Medals in swimming and also a Bronze Medal in Water Polo. He went on to star as Tarzan in 18 feature movies, the starred in 16 feature movies as Jungle Jim followed by 26 episodes of the Jungle Jim TV series.

I've tried researching these decks online but can't find any thing about them except one older listing on Ebay which is no longer available. Now you know if you can't find anything online, they have to be mighty rare. Brown & Bigelow got out of the playing card business in the 1980s but my hunch is that these cards are from the 1950s or 1960s as I've seen similar artwork from then. The decks must have been in one larger outer box as there are no tax stamps on the decks.

These decks would make a great addition to any collection of playing cards, Olympic memorabilia, movie memorabilia or even just great swimmers. Heck, maybe you just have a thing for guys in loincloths. To find one deck still sealed would be great but to find all three decks still sealed is almost miraculous! If you happen to have the outer box with open decks in it, put these decks in the box instead and have what may be a one of a kind item.

Shipping for these decks will be Ground Advantage mail within the lower 48. International shipping via Ebay's Standard International Delivery.

TERMS

(PLEASE READ BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS):

Payment:

All you should have to do at the end of an auction is click "Pay Now". There is no need to ask for an invoice or wait for one. I will send an invoice if you request one but my first priority will be to mail the items I have been paid for.

Shipping (PLEASE DO READ):

ANY requests for special packaging, handling, etc. MUST be transmitted through EBAY (not regular email) to the seller within 12 hours of the end of the auction.

Sellers are pretty much forced to follow Ebay policies for shipping. That means the package must have tracking.

In over 25 years on Ebay I have never tried to make money on shipping. Please bear in mind that the estimated postage includes a slight bump to cover Ebay fees which are charged on postage and other postal services (Insurance or Signature Delivery Confirmation for items expected to go over $150, etc) and to help cover the costs of all those petroleum based packing materials (peanuts, bubble wrap, etc). Many items are also insured in case of loss/damage. If a package was insured through Ebay's ShipCover, that will not appear on the postage label or in the postage amount.

On heavier or oversize items, I may ship via FEDEX GROUND to try to save you money and/or delivery time.

Similarly, if I can combine shipping for you I will, and will refund any significant savings. Please note that I will not combine items if their size or nature makes it impractical, more expensive or dangerous (I won't ship a lead weight and a porcelain vase together).

International Shipping:

International buyer's are responsible for their country's import duty or tariffs.

For International shipping that means I will ship to you via Ebay International Shipping. I am sorry but Ebay cannot combine shipping for International shipping at this time.

 ETC:

The items I sell come from various collections and estates. Generally these items have been used or stored. I have no way of knowing whether the previous owner ever smoked, had pets, stored peanuts, or ever had a musty basement, etc. I do at least a cursory cleaning of the items I sell and will do my best to remove dirt, display dust, odors etc, but I CAN NOT be responsible for things like dust in tight corners, odors I didn't detect, or some mark buried in the middle of a book. You're not paying for my time on an hourly basis and you're certainly not paying professional conservator/restoration rates so please be reasonable. I try to be as factual as I can when describing an item.

I don't claim to be an expert or collector of the things I sell. I sell a wide variety of items and may not know that a light is supposed to go on when a certain button is pushed or that an item is supposed to have 6 pieces instead of 5, or if an item came with a specific sticker/decal on it. I try very hard to describe things as best as I can and provide good photographs. Please look at the photos, if you don't see something ask me, don't assume that it is there. Please don't expect me to be able to answer your more technical or historical questions. If you can put it in words I understand or tell me where to look, I'll do my best to answer your question.
