I purchased this chair in 1992 from an estate sale in Greenwich, CT. I have owned it since. Pictures show all the details and condition of this Antique Hitchcock chair made by the Nichols and Stone furniture co. in Gardner MA. Nichols and Stone chair co. was founded in 1857 and made furniture until 2008 when the factory closed. After I owned this chair I called the Company and inquired as to its vintage. Due to the fact it has a rush seat {which the style was the company's earlier model} the person stated it was made in the late 1800's. It is shabby but still very sturdy. From a smoke free home. I have put a high shipping cost on this item. Once packed and weighed if I have overstated shipping I will refund the excess amount.
