The Story of Shap

Digitally transferred to DVD video of this facinating documentary telling the story of one of the most hazardous roads in Britain the A6 over Shap Fell in Cumbria.

Using rare archive film we hear reminisences from local residents and drivers and follow a convoy of historic vehicles as they relive the journey North from Kendal to Shap.

We also see the unveiling of the memorial at Shap summit in 1994, it pays tribute to the drivers and vehicles that made it posible the social and commercial links between the North and the South over this old route before the M6 motorway was opened.
