For sale today is the rare and out-of-print (oop) Image Comics hardcover (HC) graphic novel Pulp by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips, published in 2020.

  • Written by Ed Brubaker. Art by Sean Phillips and Jacob Phillips. Cover by) Sean Phillips.
A gorgeous original graphic novel from the bestselling creators of KILL OR BE KILLED, MY HEROES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN JUNKIES, and CRIMINAL. Max Winters, a pulp writer in 1930s New York, finds himself drawn into a story not unlike the tales he churns out at five cents a word - tales of a Wild West outlaw dispensing justice with a six-gun. But will Max be able to do the same when pursued by bank robbers, Nazi spies, and enemies from his past? One part thriller, one part meditation on a life of violence, PULP is unlike anything award-winning BRUBAKER & PHILLIPS have ever done before. This celebration of pulp fiction set in a world on the brink is another must-have hardcover from one of comics' most acclaimed teams.

I am not a comics grader, but I try to be as thorough as possible when assessing books for any flaws. I don't believe in using a number grade system - to me they are mostly utilized as a method to be ambiguous about exact condition and/or individual imperfections - but I do attempt to describe anything other than minor cover shelf-scuffing/scratching in detail. If a certain flaw discussed below does not mention that it affects inside pages, then it does not.

This copy is in very good ex-library condition, with great overall/easily legible inside pages (photo#11 example). Other than some lighter hardcover outer corner flaws, it has few and lesser signs of wear. Its obvious flaws consist of/relate to its status as an ex-library book: it has library stickers on its lower spine corner, its back cover, and on the last inside page.

**Photo#4:
-Upper spine corner: Minimal wear.

**Photo#5:
-Lower spine corner: Small/light ding where it meets the front cover, tiny peel where it meets the back cover.

**Photo#6:
-Front cover top edge: Light if any shelf-wear/scuffing.
-Outer corner: Small/light ding/indent, tiny peel.

**Photo#7:
-Front cover bottom edge: Tiny ding towards outer corner, light ~2" scratch/indent on the nearby cover, otherwise edge itself has light if any shelf-wear/scuffing.
-Outer corner: Tiny ding/indent/peel.

**Photo#8:
-Back cover top edge: Light if any shelf-wear/scuffing.
-Outer corner: ~1/2" indent around it.

**Photo#9:
-Back cover bottom edge: Light if any shelf-wear/scuffing.
-Outer corner: Small/light ding/indent, tiny peel.

**Additionally: Front and back covers possess some light shelf-scratching/scuffing around them (photo#10 w/illumination).

**Internally: 1 page towards book's beginning has some tiny dirty marks around the bottom outer corner/page edge's middle, mostly in the margins.

I both buy to read as well as sell TPBs on here, so I understand how aggravating it is to receive a comic damaged in transit. I always pack books firmly between pieces of cardboard (among other materials/layers) via Gemini Comic mailers or bubble mailers depending on size; usually utilizing boxes for larger lots. If you have any questions or would like any additional photos, feel free to let me know. I'm always happy to combine shipping costs - either message me before completing purchase for a pre-payment price adjustment, or alternatively I can provide a refund afterwards. Thanks, and have a fantastic day!
