THE MANDRAKE TALISMAN

The Amulet is double face so it can be worn in two different ways.
Inside a silver-gold baroque-floral frame, on both sides there is the color image of a Mandrake taken from ancient prints.

On the front the anthropomorphic root flaunts a pronounced phallus alluding to the tradition for which the mysterious plant was considered a powerful aphrodisiac, therefore a symbol of fertility, sexuality and carnal pleasures.
On the back, instead, from some roots emerge three birds surmounted by some leaves. The hybrid creature that emits it, instead of being a plant-man like the usual mandrake, shows an animal-vegetable symbiosis.

SYMBOLISM

Mandrake, in popular traditions, was a hybrid of a man and a root. According to some beliefs it was born from the semen emitted by the dying hanged. It is also considered a magical plant by modern Wicca, especially on full moon days
