EXCELLENT CONDITION
Steel carbon cruciform or coss X blade socket bayonet.
Complete, neither dents nor lack of parts. Without scabbard.
Excellent condition, there are only a few rust marks in 3cm on the tip, retains most of the original bright blue blued on the blade and elbow, and the socket has patina, it is notorious how the blued colour changes in the junction of the elbow with the socket.

Socket (rear of bridge): "6" and "8"

According to the specialized website World Bayonets, it was used on "Swiss 10.4mm rifles. Vetterli M1871 infantry and M1871 Stutzer. This bayonet could also be used with the M1863/67 Milbank-Amsler conversion; M1867 Peabody; and, M1869 Vetterli rifles."
This bayonet weighs 312 grams, making it the M1871 variant (not M1869). According to Vetterli's production records, serial number 42834 corresponds to an M1869/71 infantry rifle manufactured by S.I.G. Neuhausen in 1871-72.
