Most manufacturers and suppliers of HVAC equipment and parts recommend installation and servicing only by licensed HVAC professionals. Many if not most suppliers of HVAC equipment and parts will only sell to licensed contractors.
A significant amount of education, training, and hands-on experience is required to become a licensed, HVAC Professional.
In my area, the program to become a licensed HVAC professional and member of the union, is a five-year program combining classroom and hands-on training, including 1,600 hours as an apprentice working with a licensed professional.
While it is possible for someone to fix their own equipment by watching YouTube videos and viewing online comments - it is significantly more likely someone trying to fix their own equipment will have issues than a licensed, HVAC professional.
Thats why my return policy is different for licensed professional than it is for others.
