Clarkston. Michigan Civil War token, MI 180-A 4a, copper, R-6, reeded edge. The obverse shows "M.H. CLARK, DRY GOODS, HARDWARE, BOOTS & SHOES, CLARKSTON, MICH.". The reverse shows an Indian head to the left, with stars around, and the date, 1863, below. The obverse and reverse are a tan to medium brown color, with luster visible across the surfaces. On the reverse, is a very thin scratch from denticles at the tip of the neck, up to the upper side of the first star on the left. On the obverse, is an even thinner scratch that won't be seen except with moving the light across it, that goes from the "A" in "HARDWARE" up across the denticles at the "L" in "CLARK", and two much shorter, hard to see, to the left at the "M. H" of the merchant's name, to the denticles.
