The exhibition "MONONOKE KYOTO" takes place in Kyoto (2024/2/3-2024/9/1), the city that was a center of activity for Edo period painters in which Murakami has deeply been interested since the beginning of his career, a place where diverse forms of art and performing arts are still very much alive and intermingle. The cards/file folders are special edition of Kyoto Furusato Tax Payment.

[Furusato Tax Payment]
The Hometown Tax Donation system in Japan allows taxpayers to donate a portion of their taxes to their preferred area in return for local products as gratitude. It is implemented to support local economies.

[MONONOKE -Wikipedia-]
MONONOKE are vengeful spirits (onryō), dead spirits (shiryō), live spirits (ikiryō), or spirits in Japanese classical literature and folk religion that were said to do things like possess individuals and make them suffer, cause disease, or even cause death. It is also a word sometimes used to refer to yōkai or henge ("changed beings").
