Antique Victorian miniature child's carved wood/treen knitting sheath, which would have been used tucked into the knitters belt or apron to allow a free hand and increase the speed of knitting. The sheath has a shaped base, and is referred to as a "goose wing" example, and has a brass rimmed handle, with hole to the centre to hold a needle.
