This lens was developed in 1994 using a resin barrel,
and is an ultra-lightweight lens with an "Earth Bronze" color, weighing only 60 grams.
It is commonly referred to as a "Pancake Lens", and while other pancake lenses have a focal length of 40mm to 45mm,
"RICOH XR RIKENON 28mm F3.5 ASPHERIC" is the only wide-angle pancake lens.
