Jim Salzer (1942 - 2020) promoted concerts with iconic bands and artists
in the1960s in Southern California. These posters are from his personal
collection and includes both original printings and the only authorized second
printings (done in the early 1980s). Jim also started a record store, Jim
Salzer's Music Emporium, in Oxnard, CA in 1966. In 1972, he would build and
move to a 2-story free-standing store in Ventura, CA and change the name to
Salzer's Mercantile, a record store that also housed several different vendors
and shops from a barbershop to a soda fountain. The store continues today as
Salzer's Records and is owned and operated by his wife Nancy and son Brandon
(who also maintains this storefront).
