About The Manufacturer (Wikipedia):

Waring & Gillow was a noted firm of English furniture manufacturers and antique dealers formed in 1897 by the merger of Gillows of Lancaster and London and Waring of Liverpool.

Like other prestigious furniture retailers of the Victorian era, Waring & Gillow also secured furnishing contracts for a number of new luxury hotels that were being constructed in the capital. These included the Carlton Hotel, the Waldorf and the Ritz.

Wardrobe Details:

This is a beautifully crafted piece of furniture with fine detailing as seen on the Burwood Veneer. The triple bank wardrobe consists of 4 shelves on the left and a double hanging wardrobe space to the right with a shelf above. There are 3 doors with full length mirrors attached to the back of 2 and a working key that operates both doors. At some point in the past, a hanging rail/rod was added (however the original hooks are still attached at the back). The wardrobe splits into 4 pieces (top & bottom plinth, and left bank separate) for ease of transporting.

This has been in our possession for 24 years (out of direct sunlight) and we are downsizing hence the sale.

Please note: As with any period furniture, there are a couple of scuffs (around the feet) and wear & tear around the top of the bolt catch (see photos). There are also a couple of screws missing for securing the top plinth but this doesn’t affect the stability of the wardrobe. The brass sliding door rods (inside) are also damaged
