Vintage 1970s Decimo Handy Pocket Calculator case, instructions & guarantee card

This vintage pocket calculator made by Decimo is an absolute gem.  Still in working order, it was owned from new by an engineer working for Rolls Royce, so you know it has been well cared for.

Measuring 11 cm x 7cm and at 2.2cm deep, the calculator features a vivid red display along with an on/off toggle switch and the usual basic calculator buttons.  On the top there is a socket for a 7.5-9v / 150 mA AC adaptor (not included), or it can be powered by inserting a 9v battery into the compartment on the rear.  The battery compartment is accessed via a lift out cover that closes securely, and the compartment is clean and free of corrosion.  The rear features a label showing the model number (508A) and serial number for this calculator along with the power supply voltage and "Made in Singapore" marking.

This calculator also comes with a soft-foam lined black leather carrying case, the original Operating Instructions pamphlet and original Guarantee card.  The Operating Instructions pamphlet is 10 pages (including covers) and sized to fit neatly into the carrying case.  It covers all of the basic and special features of the calculator and the power supply information. The Guarantee card is the original, and has not been filled in, carrying only one pencil marking to show the purchase date of 22.1.77.

This relic of the early digital age is an absolute gem and is a must-have for any serious collector of early computing.  Although it is possible you will find another calculator of this type, it is highly unlikely you will find one in such good condition, accompanied by the original case, operating instructions and guarantee.  Why not add it to your collection right now?
