Hello,

Nice old wood/brass Chinese trinket box with hinged lid.  6.5" x 3.5" x 3.35".  Cover with multiple bats decor.

Bats represent good luck because the word in Mandarin that means 'bat' 蝙蝠 has the same sound as the word that means 'fortune' 福. Chinese art abounds with bats. 

Probably made of cherry wood. Hinged top with brass corner supports & brass decorations on top and on corners.

Top of hinges on the lid have had brass brads replaced with screws.

All brass decorations/hinges have tiny brads securing them on to the wood. There are some missing brads but all decorations are held on tight.  Rear of lid (on the right) has a horizontal crack. (see the pics) The lid is still secure and stable.
