Artist Biography:
Pierre Struys (Alkmaar 1914- Lausanne 2001) exhibited for almost 30 years. His earlier work was inspired by the Hague School. In the last ten years before his death, his oil paintings developed into a new, intensive use of color. Struys paints nudes, seascapes and still lifes. Art dealers in Switzerland, Italy and France are looking for Struy's Impressionist works because they are easy to sell. As a result, the works are rarely seen in the Netherlands. Struys has exhibited at the Pushkin Museum in Moscow, the Van Straaten Gallery in New York and the Mus_e Le Petit Palace in Geneva. The director Oscar Ghez of the latter museum regularly bought his works. Struys admired Willem de Kooning, befriended him and worked with him in his studio for three months. The results of this collaboration can be seen in works such as "NY Greenwich Village".

This is not only environmentally friendly but keeps down the high cost of new packaging. WE ship with glass removed for safety and to comply with shippers rules.
Tax and Import Duty: YOU the buyer are strictly liable for the payment of any taxes or duties for all purchases. ref: Incoterms® 2010 Delivered at Place DAP named place.
Insurance: WE undertake to insure the risk of loss or damage whilst in transit to you. If your delivery arrived damaged do not sign for it. We will pursue all claims via our carrier and within 60 days refund in FULL your purchase payment. We DO NOT alter the invoice value.
Finally, all items are described as honestly as possible but would ask you to take reasonable care in evaluating your purchase. Most of our goods are NOT NEW and WE point out any defects as far as is reasonably possible. OUR view is that WE would want to buy from OUR site.
