[This wonderful 'Welcome Soap,' Curtis Davis & C0mpany, Boston, Massachusetts, late 19th to early 20th century American antique wood box soap advertising crate, has a nearly intact, front short sidewall affixed paper label & quite simply extraordinary orange & black ink stamped long sidewall typography & graphic iconography. This is an early soap box & preceded the turn of the century. 'Welcome Soap' was registered on Jan. 8, 1878, 22 years before 1900, making this wood box soap advertising crate, an especially early piece of American mercantile advertising. This Boston, MA antique artifact was from a time when Boston, MA & really all of New England, were leaders in manufacturing a variety of products consumed by the rest of the country, with 'Welcome Soap,' produced in Boston, Massachusetts, being one of them. The box crate features all wood construction, nailed corners, a wood plank floor & clear, crisp, two-color, black & orange color typography & graphic iconography, in wonderful, stylized, shadowed typography. Very nice & exceptionally well-preserved & nearly as it was originally constituted, 125 to 145 years ago. Magnificent.]
