Highly detailed 1:10 scale diecast model of the 1942 Indian 422, by Franklin Mint, in display case with supporting paperwork.

Developed from the Ace 4 cylinder machine after Indian purchased the Ace motorcycle company in 1927, the 422 was launched in 1929, a truly luxurious machine with a 1265cc 4 cylinder inline engine, 3 speed hand change with foot clutch, sprung suspension front and back, and a top speed of 105mph it was a revelation in an age when few cars could exceed 60mph. This model represents the 1942 version which was the last year of production, and considered by many to be the most beautiful motorcycle ever made with its deeply swooping art deco styling, gorgeous deep Burgundy paintwork and gleaming Chrome detailing.

This beautifully made precision model is truly stunning in its level of detail, every fine detail is faithfully created in miniature.
Hand assembled from diecast metal, it weighs in at over half a kilogram, and is constructed from over 200 parts.
The lustrous paintwork to the tank and fenders is set off by gleaming Chrome plating to the various fittings, the saddle is upholstered with real leather with just the right amount of creasing where the rider would create wear to the sides.
The rotating wheels are shod with rubber tyres which have an authentic period tread pattern, and the steering operates.
Both the foot clutch and rear brake operate with tiny linkages and the kickstart pedal operates and springs back into place exactly like the real thing. The speedo, fuel gauge and engine mounted oil pressure gauge are all accurately re created, as are the miniature plug caps, distributor leads and control cables.
The bike measures 9.5 inches in length (coke can shown for scale).

This is a model for the real connoisseur collector, and comes complete with its own display case to keep it free from dust and damage, its manufactures label remains attached to the model, and is provided with it's certificate of authenticity.
It is in beautiful mint condition with no damage of missing parts, and will be very carefully packaged and sent via Royal Mail recorded delivery to ensure it reaches its new home in good order.
