The HP x796w USB 64GB High-Speed Flash Drive (3.2 Gen 2 Type-A) is a premium USB high-speed flash drive designed by Hewlett-Packard Labs in California and manufactured by PNY Technologies.
With an all-metal chassis that includes an internal mini-heatsink for improved heat dissipation paired with a temperature sensor, the x796w Flash Drive can intelligently adjust its read and write speeds (with a total throughput of up to 10Gbit/s) thereby maintaining the optimal balance between performance and reliability.
Built with a stack of 4 memory chips, each with a capacity of 16GB (for a total drive capacity of 64GB), the x796w can intelligently partition your data in separate blocks to ensure accurate data storage using Adaptive Memory Technology (AMT) algorithms, so that read speeds are consistently rated at a performance of up to 1000MB/s. A die-on-chip IC sensor allows the x796w to dynamically modulate write speeds to prioritize reliability, by capping block writes at 900MB/s (or lower) so that the data written is guaranteed by HP to be retrievable for a period of 10 years1.
With broad support for every OS including most versions of Windows, Linux, Android, Chrome, and Mac2 – you can be sure that your data is kept safe with HP’s RAIN Data Protection Technology. Hot-swappable ensures Plug-n-Play compatibility even with game consoles (Sony PlayStation 4 and 5). A built-in lanyard and key-ring allows you to chain the flash drive with your bundles of keys, making it a good travel companion.
