Antique Framed 19th C. English UK North Wales Sampler Fine Pictorial Petitpoint & Verse
The Needlepoint has loss and is faded
The exterior frame dimensions are 16 1/8" by 20" by 1 1/2"
The visible glass and visible surface of the sampler are 15 7/8" Long by 12 1/4" Tall
The sampler is securely framed
The frame is heavily weathered but displays the piece beautifully ( it will need a hanging wire and hooks)
The needlepoint reads ( as best I can tell)
Anne Williams Agd 12 Goedddol
(Goedddol would be the name of the family's home or farm and English means 'Wood Meadow')
Li or LL...'unreadable' ...rrin Montgomeryshire
( That would be Llanwrin, near Machynileth, Old County of Montgomeryshire, now Powys )
( also interestingly Llanwrin means 'The Church of Saint Gwrin')

The Text does not contain a date that I can deciper
I am unsure whay Goedddol is. A mis - spelled surname? Goeddol?
A date code??
The petitpoint is superfine and very detailed
Including Trees, Topiaries, Flowers, Birds ( Various Kinds), Deer, Goats/Sheep, Dogs, Lions?
